A New Year

Well, as you can see I was unsuccessful in keeping up with this blog last year. I'm going to try again and see what happens! We have rolled over into 2016 and have some big changes coming this year. The biggest being the arrival of our new little man. I'm due April 23 and so far, so good.
Jesse worked a LOT of overtime over the Christmas holidays, so we felt that we really needed some family time. We decided to take the kids on a little weekend getaway to Mountain View, AR to visit the cave Blanchard Springs. We got up this past Friday and did a few things in school, and then we were on the road by about 9:30 or 10.

We ended up staying in Mountain Home because we wanted a hotel with a swimming pool. Even though it was about an hour drive to the cave the next day, we were so glad we chose this hotel. It was the Hampton Inn and it was really nice. The kids loved the pool, I loved the hot tub, and we ALL loved the continental breakfast! This was Graham's first experience in a hotel, and he did really well sleeping in his pack & play.

We went to a really good Italian restaurant that night, and then went back to the hotel and watched Wreck it Ralph before bed. In the morning we got up and headed to Mountain View to go to the cave. Blanchard Springs was really pretty and cool!

If you looked closely you could see all kinds of things in the cave. I thought this was really cool because it looked like there was a ship on the wall!

Graham was fascinated by the cave! Haha. When we left there we went around the corner and saw a really pretty waterfall and dam. The kids had fun exploring, but it would really be fun to go back in the summertime when it's warmer.

After we left the stream we went to the town square and had some more good food. We definitely did some good eating on this trip! After lunch we walked around and visited some of the little shops, then went to an old-timey soda fountain and had some ice cream.

Hot Fudge Sundae for the girls!

Banana Split for the boys!

Do YOU scream for ice cream?? WE DO!!!!
As soon as we got back to the hotel it was time for more fun in the pool

This was such a fun little trip, and I'm so glad we were able to do it! Can't wait for our next getaway.

Starting This Thing Up!

So I guess I'm going to jump back into the world of blogging. I've been gone for awhile, but I'm ready to try to start back up so that I can keep a record of the things we are doing in our day-to-day life. These days pass so quickly and I want to be able to remember the crazy fun times we had!
Last week we took a family outing to the new Bass Pro Shop in downtown Memphis. We invited Gee and Papaw to go with us and we had a blast!

The inside of the store was amazing! There were animals and streams with fish everywhere. There were tons of things for the kids to look at. They have a restaurant and a bowling alley, but we didn't do either of those. There was a little shop in the middle where they made fudge and we all tried some samples. It was some kind of good!!

My favorite part of the trip was when we went up to the observation deck. It was 25 stories high and had an amazing view of the city! We tried to get some good pictures, but as you can see, the sun was pretty bright and that didn't go so well.
While we were up there we saw some window washers. One of them just put his harness on, climbed over the railing, and started rappelling down the side of the building! No. Stinkin. Way.

Mom and Dad took us to Steak and Shake when we left the Bass Pro Shop. Yummy!! The only problem with the day was that I had a massive headache while we were there. I was still able to enjoy the day though.

I'll be going back and doing some posts on some of the things we have done these last few months, but I thought this one would be a fun one to start off with!

...And I just noticed that we wore the same outfits this day that we did at the beach in my pictures off to the side! I promise we do have other clothes!
